Beating Winter Blues

If you have chosen to devote your life to a creative field of work, you will understand how hard it is sometimes to actually be able to “create”. One great book that I have recently read, suggested that creativity has nothing to do with whatever crazy ideas you have in your head, it is about how you turn those ideas into real-life projects. Which, I must say, a very relevant view on this subject, considering the fact that I have been planning/thinking to do this that and the other, yet I’ve struggled to actually  turn those ideas into real life actions.

Of course, just like any other person living in Britain right now, I have been blaming the weather and lack of daylight for my terrible ability to implement more activity into my daily routine. However, the less I have been doing, the more depressed and tired I started to feel. Without sounding corny, I decided that it was time to change things around and find my motivation in pretty much anything. Long-term goals are great but very often they seem so far away, this is why I’ve been trying to  focus on things that seemed less out of reach.

It might seem crazy but every night before bed I watch a feel-good movie or read an interesting a book, or even an article. I’m not taking Bridget Jones kind of movie and not Fifty Shades kind of book, I’m talking something that really inspires me and makes me wanna … just go for it haha! Whether it’s the movies or my upcoming trip to New York (something to look forward to hey!), winter doesn’t seem so terrible at the moment and I am managing to “create” to the max. Every Sunday I have been getting up at 8am and doing at least three shoots with my photographer. This has made me feel more energised and refreshed than any amount of sleep or tea and biscuits I could’ve had that day!

Having said all this, I have been so pleased to see that just after three months of consistent work on my blog has greatly increased my traffic! I wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who has been reading and run an amazing giveaway, which will be live on my Instagram in just couple of days! Be sure to check it out.
